How often do ANAME Records update?
Posted by Devon Roberts on 15 May 2015 04:40 PM

When a DNS Made Easy client creates an ANAME record, they will enter a fully qualified domain name as a value, just as they would have done if a CNAME record was created. This fully qualified domain name is looked up internally by DNS Made Easy, the resulting A records are mapped and created on DNS Made Easy name servers. DNS Made Easy will constantly monitor the value of the ANAME record, compare to the existing mapping in the ANAME comparison database, and modify the existing records if necessary.

ANAME record updates operate on a process behind the scenes which must run through each target value for every ANAME and resolve the associated destination IP addresses checking for differences, updating them, and removing old no longer valid IP's from the zone file in turn updating all global name servers. The ANAME record would update about every 10 minutes.
