I can't create a root record with an @ symbol
Posted by Devon Roberts on 29 May 2015 02:30 PM

The @ symbol represents the root record of the domain name, you would leave the name field of the record blank which is equivalent. This is the root record for a domain which resolves records at the domain's root, for example an A record with the name field left blank would resolve http://example.com to an IP address in a web browser.

Why can't I create a CNAME record for the root record?
